    What is SIRA?

    SIRA ( Security Industry Regulatory Authority) of the UAE Dubai- a body that overseas the activities taking place in the security industry to ensure compliance of security services and systems with certain criteria. The following aims have been set out for SIRA, which was created for the improvement of safety measures: Regulatory Activity: One of SIRA’s tasks is setting out minimum acceptable requirements for security firms, including firms that install, service, and operate security systems, especially closed-circuit television (CCTV).

    Licensing Service: The Bureau controls the implementation of the law by licensing security firms and companies according to the comprehension of the law.

    Certification: SIRA performs certification on a variety of systems and equipment, including cameras and alarm systems for CCTV, to ensure compliance with certifications and quality status.

    Training and Standards: The Bureau executes professional courses as well as rules for the regulated security industry to increase the overall appearance of professionalism in the field.

      You can apply for SIRA in Dubai when you come into the United Arab Emirates. There are two approaches to applying for SIRA in Dubai: First is when you are hired by a security company. Then they will send you to the Security Cadre Training Centre” (SCTC) to obtain the license. And secondly, when you go to the SCTC yourself and subscribe to the training course and upon completion, you would receive the license.

      SIRA is a governmental body responsible for the regulation and supervision of the security industry in Dubai. SIRA is an acronym for “Security Industry Regulatory Agency” which came into existence under Dubai’s Law Number 12 of 2016. The agency took over the responsibilities of the Department of Protective Systems (DPS) of Dubai Police. And since then SIRA is vested with the power to set general policies for Dubai’s security industry. It also sets the specifications and standards that companies must comply with, to get installation approval.
